The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
