Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Claims Shared on Social Media

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team drafted in the second round.

Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
